Summerfair Cincinnati’s Executive Board, as part of its goal to expand the organization’s impact on the local arts community’s art education outreach initiatives, has expanded its support role in partnership with the Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) through it’s annual Overture Awards program. The annual support of $12,000 will provide the CAA the funding for the entire VISUAL ARTS and INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC segment, as well at the ART EDUCATOR award, of the Overture Awards program.

The Overture Awards Summerfair Cincinnati Visual Arts Scholarship
The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is pleased to announce that Summerfair Cincinnati has expanded its partnership with CAA to sponsor the entire visual art and instrumental music disciplines as well as the art educator award of The Overture Awards. The scholarships associated with these categories of the competition will now be known as The Overture Awards Summerfair Cincinnati Visual Arts, Instrumental Music and Art Educator Scholarships.
The Overture Awards is the largest scholarship competition for high school students in the country. Last year more 500 students from a thirteen county region of the Tri-state competed for $24,000 in scholarships in six artistic disciplines – Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Dance, Drama, Creative Writing and Visual Art. The Oveture Awards have achieved such a strong reputation with college admission officers that success in the competition is considered a noteworthy accomplishment.
The 2019 Overture Awards competition occurred in January. The registration deadline was November 9.
