Holiday Events in Cincinnati - Something for Everyone

The curator of Summerfair Cincinnati's new initiative "SFC Day Out" has graciously put together a list of events in Cincinnati that we hope will inspire you and your BFF, significant other, family or (if you need a break) just yourself to celebrate not only the holiday season but the ARTS in our area.

Our curator, Chris Konieczka, has provided a list of the following (although she reminds us that there are many more opportunities available; and suggests checking the newspapers and online sites for more!)

Taft Museum of Art:  (Museum is open Tues - Sun / 11a - 5p and is FREE on Sunday)

  • Antique Christmas through Jan. 29
  • Italian Landscapes by George Innes through Jan. 8

Cincinnati Art Museum: (Museum is open Tues - Sun / 11a - 5p (Admission is FREE / parking is $4.00)

  • Art Deco, Fashion and Design in the Jazz Age though Jan. 1
  • 4th Floor Award through Jan. 1 (works by Darren Goodman, glass artist from Waynesville, OH)
  • Darkness Into Light, Mezzotint Rediscovered through Jan. 1 (17th century Dutch painters and printmakers)

Cincinnati Ballet

  • The "New" Nutcracker, Dec. 15 - 24 at the aronoff Center (Tickets $40.00 and up)

Ensemble Theater of Cincinnati (1127 Vine St.)

  • Snow White, Nov. 30 - Dec. 31 (Tickets $36.00 - $42.00)

Holiday Arts and Craft Shows

  • The City Flea, Dec. 10 (11a - 5p) @ 12th and Vine Street downtown / Not your average flea market - all handcrafted or vintage items with great food vendors!
  • 36th Annual Holiday Sale @ Memorial Hall, Sunday, Dec. 4 (Noon - 4p) 1225 Elm St., downtown / Ceramic art, functional pottery, 18k loom woven jewelry, hand painted silk clothing and much more.

Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Music Hall 1241 Elm St. (Tickets $10.00 and up)

  • Happy Holidays with the Pops featuring Sandi Patty, Dec. 9 and 10 (8pm) and Dec. 11 (2pm)
  • Handel's Messiah, Dec. 18, 2pm
