2012 Emerging Artists Opening Reception

Put another SFC Year Round program down in the record books!

The 2012 Emerging Artists Opening Reception, held Friday, Feb. 10 in the Anderson Center's Lower Atrium, was a BIG success with the largest turnout of arts supporters yet!

Over 250 arts patrons (pictured below) turned out (in rather iffy weather) to celebrate and congratulate our (15) Emerging Artists (pictured above) from five local universities.

 

Malton Gallery owner Sylvia Rombis made a wonderful presentation of two "Gallery Choice Awards" to Kendra Douglas (sculpture / NKU) and Sara Fleenor (painting / Miami (OH) University).  These two emerging artists will have a professional gallery exhibit at the Malton Gallery next year!
 

SFC Day Out Docent and EA Judge Chris Konieczka made the presentation of the 2012 SFC ($1,000) Purchase Award to photographer Natalie Clark (Xavier University).  Natalie's artwork "Speed" will become a permanent part of the Summerfair Cincinnati collection in our gallery once the exhibit is de-installed.

It was a pleasure to meet and work with all 15 of these local, talented artists.  We at Summerfair look forward to reading about and seeing their work exhibited locally and nationally in the years to come!  Congratulations to everyone!
